The mission of Florida's School Health Services Program is to appraise, protect and promote the health of students. School-based health services are an important component of the public health system and help to assure that Florida's students are healthy, in the classroom, and ready to learn.
Parents/Guardians have the primary responsibility to assure the health and well being of their children. Private health care providers and government services are resources to help parents meet the health needs of their children. Since children spend many of their daytime hours in school and since healthy kids make better students, schools can play an important role in helping parents successfully assure the health and well being of their children.
The Walton County School Health Services Program seeks to support parents in their efforts to raise educated and healthy children.
This webpage is intended to serve as a resource for parents including information describing school entry requirements, health screening programs, administration of medication, dental health programs and other basic school health services provided by your school nurse at Freeport Elementary.
