Non-Invasive Health Screenings:
At the beginning of each school year, the school nurse will send to all parents/guardians, a letter informing them of the screenings that are recommended for their child that year. Only trained health professionals will perform screening services. Additionally, the school nurse will send parent/guardian a letter informing them of the completion of the screenings and notice of any required referral.
This type of screening is population-based and done on all students designated to receive these screening services, unless parent/guardian elects to opt out of screening by submitting such a request in writing to the school principal.
Individual screening requests by parents or teachers are handled by the school nurse on a one-on-one basis.
